Chapter 1 • the Explorer's Cabin

a month ago I woke up with a terrible feeling that I was living someone else's perfect life.

my life is full of wonderful things, i thought to myself, just not the ones I find truly meaningful.

so i did what a twenty something poet stuck in the asylum of adulthood must do : booked myself a solo trip to a country cabin — the Explorer's Cabin.

I went there with all I had : years of creative projects, monstrously voluminous note-taking, unfinished music albums and the whole-hearted determination to understand the one thing :

why the hell do I isolate myself ?

why am I so scared to unlock the door to the dreamscapes of my imagination ?

what is the fear that overrides my deep desire for connection ?

my goal was to face this mystery and document the process as if I was just journaling about it as I always do.

what I discovered was beautiful and unexpected.

and I also made my first ever vlog out of this self-adventure. 💌
